For every food product on a grocery shelf there's a complicated chain of ingredient specifications, lengthy production processes, and many health and safety procedures — and every food business needs high-quality database technology to track those variables and ensure the highest-quality products.
We've tackled multiple projects in food manufacturing and processing, building complex systems that streamline vital processes, reduce costs, and increase safety. MinnTex Citrus had a 30-year-old database system with a vintage character-based interface, and asked J Street to replace it with a modern desktop application.
The Need
MinnTex Citrus was operating on dated character-based green-screen software plus a patchwork of internally built Access tools. As the business grew, the old software could not keep up and maintenance became difficult.
The Solution
J Street rebuilt their environment around a well-designed database, replacing the green-screen system while preserving the processes their team relied on.
