Even if you’re just exploring options, we always encourage scheduling a consultation—we aim to make the meeting valuable to you even if you’re not ready to move forward. To help put your mind at ease, here’s a peek behind the curtain at our process so that you know exactly what to expect when you schedule a free consultation call with us:
Initial Contact
Click the link to Schedule A Free Consultation Call and answer a few basic questions in the “Ready to Get Started?” form below. Submit the form (as long as you're not a robot) and your inquiry will be sent to our Sales email.
Qualifying Call
Jared, our Business Development Specialist, will receive your inquiry. After reviewing the details you provide and a little background research, Jared will follow up with you via phone or email within 24 hours. Usually, he'll have a few more qualifying questions and will introduce you to how we can approach your project. Before jumping to a consultation over Teams, you can also schedule a low-stakes intro call with him to get the lay of the land and learn more about J Street.
(PRO TIP: If you want to hear from Jared, don't offer to sell us office cleaning services or knockoff Russian pharmaceuticals in your project description.)
Virtual Consultation
If it sounds like we're a good fit, Jared will send a Calendly link to schedule a free virtual meeting over Microsoft Teams with you (and any additional project stakeholders), him, and one or more of our system architects. During our free consultation, we dive deeper to understand your business, your requirements, and explain our approach and how we can help. If you have an existing system in need of support, we'll identify your top priorities and recommend additional improvements. If you are in the market for new custom software or have a system that needs to be re-designed, we'll describe our initial discovery phase. If possible, we often like to screenshare and inspect the structure & quality of existing systems which can inform our estimate.
Proposal
At the end of the meeting with Jared and the system architect(s), we'll provide a quote for our initial engagement so that you will have a number to guide your decision whether to move forward. If you're ready for it, Jared will prepare a Statement of Work and Master Service Agreement. The SOW covers the initial scope, budget/timeline, and terms, and the MSA just covers our working relationship. We're happy to negotiate any terms in order to work together, just let us know how we can best fit our proposals to work on your terms.
Kickoff
By this point, you have a solid understanding of J Street's recommended approach, whether we're a good fit for your project, and have proposals with estimates to review. Jared will check in as you consider everything and is available to answer questions, negotiate terms, or to schedule follow-up meetings if necessary. If and when you're ready to move forward, we use DocuSign for e-signing our SOW and MSA (or you can sign in whatever way you prefer). Once signed, we invoice for the project's deposit (50% of the initial budget, used immediately and not at risk), and once paid we schedule a kickoff meeting to exchange files and get started.
